Alex Borg: Stirring the Blue Sea of Change

Malta’s political scene is abuzz with a familiar name, Alex Borg, as he takes the helm of the Nationalist Party’s (PN) youth wing. Standing in the heart of Valletta, outside the party’s headquarters on South Street, Borg is a beacon of renewed energy, rallying activists and sparking hope among PN supporters.

From Student Activism to Party Leadership

Borg’s journey is one of passion and perseverance. A former student activist, he cut his teeth in politics during the 2011 student protests against university fee increases. His fiery oratory skills and unyielding determination caught the eye of party heavyweights, catapulting him from the student movement to the PN’s youth wing. Now, at just 31, he’s steering the party’s future, promising a fresh approach and a return to victory.

Revitalizing the PN: Borg’s Blueprint

Borg’s plan is twofold: rejuvenate the party’s base and broaden its appeal. He’s reaching out to disillusioned voters, young and old, with a message of unity and progress. “We need to listen to everyone,” he says, “from the veteran activists to the first-time voters. Their voices are the compass guiding us back to victory.”

He’s also pushing for policy reforms, advocating for a greener Malta, a stronger economy, and a more inclusive society. His vision resonates with many, particularly the youth, who see in him a reflection of their own aspirations and frustrations.

Borg’s challenge is daunting. The PN has been in opposition since 2013, and the ruling Labour Party (PL) shows no signs of weakening. Yet, Borg remains undeterred. “We’re not just fighting for the next election,” he says, “we’re fighting for Malta’s future. And that future is blue.”
