SCJ Children’s Choir to Enchant with Annual Concert

Imagine the joyous sound of over 100 children’s voices filling the historic St. John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta. This isn’t a dream, but a reality that awaits us at the SCJ Children’s Choir annual concert. This year’s event promises to be a magical experience, blending tradition and talent in a way that only Maltese children can.

An Island of Voices

The SCJ Children’s Choir is no stranger to Malta’s cultural scene. Established in 1997, it has grown from a small group of passionate young singers to an island-wide phenomenon, with over 120 members aged between 6 and 18. Hailing from various schools across Malta and Gozo, these children come together under the guidance of their dedicated musical director, Marouska Attard, to create harmonious melodies that echo through our streets and hearts.

A Night of Musical Marvels

The annual concert, set to take place on Saturday, 10th December at 7:30 PM, is a testament to the choir’s hard work and dedication. This year’s theme, ‘A World of Music’, promises a diverse repertoire that spans genres and eras. From classical masterpieces to popular hits, each song is carefully selected to showcase the choir’s versatility and range. The programme includes works by Mozart, Vivaldi, and even a touch of Maltese folklore, ensuring there’s something to delight every ear.

But the magic doesn’t stop at the music. The concert will also feature solo performances by some of Malta’s most promising young talents. These children, handpicked for their exceptional skills, will take to the stage to showcase their unique voices, leaving the audience spellbound.

More Than Just a Concert

For many of these children, the SCJ Children’s Choir is more than just a place to sing. It’s a community, a family, a place where they can express themselves, make friends, and build confidence. The annual concert is not just a performance; it’s a celebration of their journey, their growth, and their shared love for music.

So, mark your calendars, Malta. This December, let’s come together to support our island’s future stars. Let’s fill St. John’s Co-Cathedral with our love and applause, creating a night that these children will cherish for a lifetime.
