Emergency services rushed to the scene of a dramatic road accident in Gozo on Tuesday morning, where a 64-year-old man’s vehicle plunged off a cliff near the scenic Ta’ Cenc area. The man, a local resident, was rushed to Gozo General Hospital with serious injuries.

Accident Details

The incident occurred around 10:30 AM on the Mgarr-Ix-Xini road, a winding stretch known for its breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Witnesses reported seeing the vehicle, a white Ford Fiesta, lose control and career off the cliff, plummeting around 30 meters down to the rocky shore below.

Police and Civil Protection Department personnel quickly arrived at the scene, with the latter using ropes and climbing equipment to reach the injured man. He was then transferred to an ambulance and taken to the hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Investigation Underway
