A fatal stabbing had left the small fishing village in shock, and one eyewitness, who wishes to remain anonymous, shared their chilling account with Hot Malta.

Marsalforn, a picturesque village in the north of Malta, is known for its quiet evenings and bustling summer nights. On this particular evening, the streets were filled with the usual hum of locals and tourists alike, enjoying the cool sea breeze and the scent of freshly caught fish wafting from the nearby restaurants. The eyewitness, a local resident, was walking home from dinner at one of Marsalforn’s popular eateries, Il-Kanċunil, when the tranquility was abruptly disrupted.

“I was walking down Triq il-Kappella, near the church, when I heard raised voices,” the eyewitness recalled. “I looked over and saw two men arguing. It seemed heated, but I didn’t think much of it. Arguments happen, especially after a few drinks. But then, everything happened so fast.”

The eyewitness described the scene as it unfolded in a matter of seconds. “One of the men suddenly lunged at the other. The police and an ambulance arrived shortly after, but it was too late. The victim, a 35-year-old man from Birkirkara, was pronounced dead at the scene. The alleged attacker, a 42-year-old man from Rabat, was later arrested and is currently in police custody.
